About

Hey, I’m Andy! I set up Seabird Films as a platform to share meaningful stories from communities and organisations working to make a positive impact on the natural world around them.

Born in Scotland, I’ve always felt a deep connection to wild and untamed places.  Drawn to extremes—whether beneath the ocean waves or in the arid outback—I am passionate about exploring the edges of our world and sharing the stories that resonate with all of us.  Through photography and film, I strive to capture the sublime beauty of the natural world and tell stories that celebrate the resilience of the human spirit and the character of the wild, precious places we inhabit.  I’ve equipped my passion with a Bachelor’s degree in Photography and Film, a degree in International Photojournalism, and a CASA certification in drone operations.  As an experienced SDI Divemaster, rEvo CCR and mixed-gas diver, I’m well-prepared to work in some of the most challenging environments on the planet.  My skills and experience are matched by a keen eye for light, detail, and those fleeting, intricate moments that reveal a fuller story through considered and attentive imagery.  I founded Seabird Films as a platform to showcase stories from communities and organisations striving to make a positive impact on the landscapes around them.  As a freelance cameraman, drone operator, diver, and filmmaker, I specialise in observational documentary work for television and independent projects.  I bring a full FX6 production kit, including sound equipment, action cams, and 4K aerial drones, to every project, ensuring high-quality production in any setting.  Whether working as an underwater camera operator, safety diver, or documentary filmmaker, my commitment remains the same: to capture and share the extraordinary moments that connect us to the natural world and to one another.
